Mad Scientists

When you ask most boys what they want to be when they grow up they say “football player,” or “fireman.”
Not my boys.
Both of my sons want to be scientists.
The oldest is a good fit for science. He is uber-tidy, loves math and science and is fascinated by the world around him.
I think the younger one wants to be a scientist because he likes the idea of mixing things together in hopes of an explosion.
David brought a set of flasks and beakers home from school this week and made my children remarkably happy.
All weekend they have been mixing water, sugar and food coloring in their mad science experiments.
I just hope if they decide to follow their interest in science, they find a lucrative career in the process.

I'm sure that scientist pays more than fireman and I'm positive it pays more than cowboy.

Good for them! Once I asked my dd what she wanted to be when she grew up (she was about 4 I think)and she told me, "Nothing. Just like you, Mommy." Yikes! I thought I was gonna fall over.

What a cool pic!!!
How great that they know their direction - and that it's realistic, (all the kids I work with will be NBA stars, if you choose to believe them!).

I think their career choice is wonderful! I hope they both grow up to follow their dreams and cure the world and it's inhabitants of all that ails them.

Oh my gosh... this picute is way cool. I love the way his eye is framed in the center of the beaker (is that what the thing he is holding is called?). Amazing photography. Good job! Now all you have to do is print out your blog entry, use it as journaling, print the picture and there you go - instant page!

Alleen, I LOVE this shot! Great! Science and Math are not my cup of tea, so I'm always appreciative of those who "get it". They are the ones who develop the things that make our life more comfortable! They deserve the big bucks! BTW, your pumpkin below is darling!
