Chilly winds may blow

The wind started to blow last night, bringing in a winter storm. Somehow, when we moved here I didn’t realize it would be so windy. On days like this you can hear the wind whistling and moaning around the corners of the house. This sound might be considered spooky to some, but I am comforted by it. It reminds me of the ranch house of my childhood. It also reminds me that I am safe and warm in my home.
Today, for photo a day, I took a picture of our weather station. David bought it for Logan, (again, the little scientist) this summer. When he ordered it he was explaining it to me, saying it had a water gage and “those little spinning cuppy things.” I knew what he was talking about. So did Logan. He immediately corrected up saying it was an anemometer. I hate it when my kid is smarter than I am.
