I had no idea when I got out of bed this morning what I would be able to come up with for the November Photo a Day today. I was hoping it would snow or rain. The wind has been blowing for 24 hours straight, which usually means a storm is on its way.
Alas, all was clear.
But I noticed the wind had pulled most of the leaves off the trees. So as per suggested, I waited for the sun to come up and took some pictures of our neighbors tree.
Imagine if you will, my large self in a pair of bright yellow Sponge Bob Square Pants pajamas and fuchsia tennis shoes, a camera slung about my neck, taking pictures of a tree while school children walk by on their way to class.
But the light was wonderful and I ended up taking so many good photos I decided to post more than one. Feel free to tell me which one you think I should call my “official” photo of the day for November 3.
My son followed me out, and he was wearing a bright orange coat, so I had him pose against the tree because I love the contrast of his soft skin against the rough bark.
I have also been challenged to take a picture of a child eating today. But all the youngsters are gone to school now, so I will try to take some shots of food consumption after school.

I really like the leaf hanging on the bare tree. Something poetic about it.

I like them all, but I am partial to the picture with your son, as I really like people photos! I also love the light on the leaves in the first photo! Leaves are still green here!

cool photos. they just scream "fall!" don't they? I'd love to see the one of your son and the tree in B/W. the texture contrast will really show itself well.

I love how your November photos actually reflect the time of year...mine are so scattered and do not relate to fall at all...I like the top one actually (but my fave is the one of your son!)

The single leaf is the best as far as composition goes. Like Sheila Ithink it is poetic. But Adam is beyond poetic and I too like people in photos.
