Happy Mother's Day

Here’s a photo of my boys making me brownies. Now we know they can do it, maybe I won’t have to.
Hahahahaha.
*sigh*

It could happen! Ashlee has discovered chocolate chip muffin mix. She makes it often, sometimes in a saucepan in lieu of washing a mixing bowl. Sometimes she just eats it without baking it, and often she burns it. The operative thing here is she does it by herself. when I think os the things Karen did at her age I have to go and sob quietly in a corner for a few minutes.

It's true, Lisa and I were baking fools way before we were 12. Every Sunday we would pour over the Betty Crocker & SV Cook of the Week cookbooks and whip up blonde brownies, hot fudge cake, pineapple iced cookies, oatmeal bars and a veritable plethora of other made from scratch goodies. I never cook now though so perhaps a late start is a good sign of longevity in the kitchen.

I will eat brownies as long as they are the fudgy kind. I cannot resist brownies or cookies. Give me cookies over pastries any day. The secret to brownies is stir with a wooden spoon, I don't know why but it works.
